In "The Distance From Here," Suzanne Faltenbacher develops a series of abstract works that explore themes of transformation and transience. The exhibition at Nachtstudio Munich begins with the two works The Blue Hour 01 and The Blue Hour 02.

The Distance from here
The Blue Hour 01-2025
"The Blue Hour" comprises two large-format works in wood, whose deep cuts and lines suggest a restless activity. Suzanne Faltenbacher replaces the preceding manual process that left its marks. She transforms a piece of plywood into a structured topography with superimposed layers of color. The work refers to the life cycle of a mega city during the short twilight phase, when, over the course of just one hour in the late afternoon, the sky changes color, even the light is immersed in blue, and the utopia of a never-ending day arises.

About
Suzanne Faltenbacher is an architect, artist, and art director. After studying architecture and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, she made a name for herself with interdisciplinary projects in public spaces, for institutions and companies. In 2000, she founded studioacht - Architecture Scenography & Art. In the complex works she develops with studioacht partner Daniel Kronwinkler, a fluid transition from architecture and scenography to art is elementary for all realized projects. Many of her works feature her own furniture, lighting, and product designs. At the same time, branding is integrated into the design process for numerous brands. Graphic designs are also transferred to architecture and are often seen as floor-to-ceiling elements on wall surfaces.
