With a large-format collage of paper and colors, the artist engages with media mechanisms that act upon society and constantly overlap in an overwhelming flood of information.

"in the name"
"IN THE NAME" is an abstract work made of interwoven strips of newspaper, colors, sketches, and excerpts of quotes. The artist follows the dynamics of perception and processing of a media world that transmits news without interruption. The truthfulness, the intent behind a message, or deliberate manipulation of what is said is difficult to grasp in the fast-paced flow of news — and online, images and words disappear as quickly as they appear.
In this work, she explores news as multilayered overlaps, using her own visual language of signs and symbols, and portrays the act of remembering in words and recording in sketches as a momentum of existence.

About
Suzanne Faltenbacher is an architect, artist, and art director. After studying architecture and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, she gained recognition through interdisciplinary projects in public spaces, for institutions and companies. In 2000, she founded studioacht – Architecture Scenography & Art. In the multilayered works she develops with studioacht partner Daniel Kronwinkler, a fluid transition between architecture and scenography towards art is elemental to all realized projects. Many works incorporate original furniture, lighting, and product designs. At the same time, branding for numerous clients is integrated into the design process — with graphic concepts often transferred directly into the architecture, frequently appearing floor-to-ceiling on wall surfaces
